On Thursday 5 men were charged with felony counts for intentionally starting the fire in Malibu that burned over a dozen homes. Arson investigators have found that at the origin of the fire there was food wrappers and fire logs that could of possibly started the fires. While fabricating this plan, these men forgot one thing. They openly walked into a nearby store around the same time the fires happened, leading the arson investigators to them. At the pinnacle of this fire, 60-mile-an-hour Santa Ana were not helping the situation. This fire was the first of a series of 24 outbreaks. These fires took many days to put out, and were very divisive. When it when they were finally done it completely charred 4,900 acres of capacious land and burned 53 homes.
The first time I hear about these fires, I simply thought that it was mother natures way of saying to stop building so many homes, but then when I heard that some one caused some of these fires, I was shocked. I thank the arson investigators for looking for these suspects and treating this case like a felony not just another coincidence. I think that the police need to usurp these suspects in jail, and make them stay there for all the suffering they caused. These fires have scarred many people for life, and most don't even have homes to go back to.
